1. Introduction & Overview

Welcome to Walkie Talkie Phone bluetooth ("the App"), developed and operated by Assalamualaikum ("we", "us", or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency regarding how your data is handled.

This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, collects, uses, and shares when you use our offline Bluetooth push-to-talk (PTT) walkie-talkie and direct phone communication services, along with integrated Google AdMob advertising services.

2. Information We Access and Process

A. Microphone and Audio Data

  • Microphone Access (RECORD_AUDIO): The App accesses your device microphone exclusively when you press and hold the Push-to-Talk button or when an active Bluetooth direct phone call / intercom session is initiated by you.

  • Audio Transmission: Captured audio is converted into local PCM audio stream packets and transmitted directly peer-to-peer to nearby connected devices over Bluetooth / Nearby Connections.

  • No Cloud Storage or Eavesdropping: We do not record, upload, store, or transmit your voice conversations to any remote server or third-party cloud. All voice transmission is strictly local and peer-to-peer between participating devices.

B. Bluetooth & Nearby Device Connectivity

To establish direct, peer-to-peer voice channels and offline data exchange without cellular network or internet data, the App requests standard Android runtime permissions:

  • Bluetooth Permissions (BLUETOOTH_SCAN, BLUETOOTH_ADVERTISE, BLUETOOTH_CONNECT): Required on Android 12 (API 31) and higher to discover nearby devices, advertise your room/phone session, and maintain encrypted local peer-to-peer links.

  • Nearby Wi-Fi Devices (NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES): Used on Android 13+ devices for high-bandwidth Wi-Fi Direct / Local Hotspot peer-to-peer fallback when supported by Google Play services Nearby Connections.

  • Location Permissions (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION): Required by older Android operating systems (Android 11 and lower) and underlying Google Play Services Nearby APIs to discover nearby Bluetooth radio hardware. We never track, record, store, or profile your GPS or physical geographical location.

C. Session & Room Metadata

When you create or join a room or direct phone channel, the App processes minimal session metadata locally:

  • Room Name & Host Name chosen by you.

  • Participant Display Name chosen by you.

  • Optional Room PIN used solely for client-side connection verification.

  • Session logs (e.g. "User connected", "Transmission ended") kept solely in temporary volatile device RAM and cleared upon exiting the session.

D. Local Preferences Storage

The App stores non-sensitive configuration data locally on your device via standard Android SharedPreferences:

  • Audio tuning preferences (Mic gain level, noise suppression filter threshold, Roger Beep sound preference).

  • Onboarding status and interstitial ad pacing preferences.

  • Saved custom display nickname. This data never leaves your device.

E. Advertising & Third-Party SDKs (Google AdMob)

The App integrates Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) and the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) to display banner, native, and interstitial advertisements to support ongoing development:

  • Google Mobile Ads SDK: May automatically collect device identifiers (such as Google Advertising ID / AAID), IP address (for coarse geographic ad serving and fraud detection), ad interaction analytics, and diagnostic error reports.

  • Consent Management: In regions subject to GDPR/ePrivacy regulations, users are presented with a consent dialog powered by Google UMP to manage personalized advertising preferences. You can adjust your consent choices at any time inside the app's Settings menu.

3. How We Use Information

We process and utilize information solely for the following legitimate purposes:

  1. Enabling real-time, low-latency Push-to-Talk voice communication and Bluetooth direct phone calls.

  2. Discovering, authenticating, and establishing peer-to-peer connections between nearby devices.

  3. Enabling offline tactical messaging, 10-codes, and emergency pager alerts over local Bluetooth links.

  4. Preserving your personalized audio preferences (Roger Beep, noise gate, mic sensitivity).

  5. Serving relevant advertisements in compliance with Google AdMob policies and user consent settings.

  6. Preventing fraudulent activity, abuse, and technical crashes.

4. Information Sharing & Third-Party Disclosure

  • Peer-to-Peer Transmission: When connected in a room or phone session, your chosen display name and transmitted voice audio are broadcast strictly to authorized peer devices in your immediate physical vicinity.

  • No Sale of Personal Data: We do not sell, rent, monetize, or trade your personal information or voice data to any data brokers or commercial third parties.

  • Third-Party Service Providers: We only share data with Google AdMob / Google Play Services as strictly necessary to deliver mobile advertisements and device connectivity libraries.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Walkie Talkie Phone bluetooth is designed for general audiences and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal identifiable information from children under 13. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so we can take appropriate corrective action.

6. Data Security & Retention

  • Voice audio packets are streamed transiently in real time and are discarded immediately after playback by the receiving device's audio buffer.

  • No user credentials, passwords, or personal profiles are stored on external databases or cloud servers.

  • All Bluetooth transmissions operate within standard short-range radio parameters and localized Google Nearby Connections security protocols.

7. Your Choices and Controls

  • Revoking Permissions: You may revoke Microphone, Bluetooth, or Location permissions at any time through your Android device settings (Settings > Apps > Walkie Talkie Phone bluetooth > Permissions). Please note that revoking Microphone or Bluetooth permissions will prevent voice walkie-talkie functionality.

  • Reset Advertising ID: You can reset or delete your Google Advertising ID at any time via Settings > Google > Ads.

  • Ad Privacy Settings: You can re-open the Google UMP consent form anytime in the App's Settings screen to modify your ad choices.

  • App Data Deletion: Clearing app storage or uninstalling the app permanently purges all local settings and logs from your device.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may periodically revise or update this Privacy Policy to reflect app updates, new features, or regulatory compliance requirements. Any modifications will be effective immediately upon publishing the updated policy with a revised effective date.
