2. Information We Access and How It Is Used
The App strictly follows the principle of data minimization. We only access sensitive device hardware when explicitly activated by you for immediate foreground surveillance streaming.
A. Camera Data (android.permission.CAMERA)
How it is used:
On the Camera Broadcaster phone, camera access is required to capture and stream real-time room video frames to the monitor phone.
On the Monitor Receiver phone, the camera may be optionally used to scan the on-screen pairing QR code for instant connection.
Data Handling: Camera images are processed in volatile device memory (RAM) and encoded into an MJPEG stream transmitted exclusively across your local network (LAN). Video feeds are NEVER uploaded to any external server or cloud service, and no images or video recordings are stored or saved by default.
B. Microphone / Audio Data (android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO)
How it is used:
On the Camera Broadcaster phone, audio access is strictly optional. If enabled, the microphone captures ambient room sound so you can hear what is happening around the camera device.
Data Handling: Audio is streamed as raw, uncompressed PCM data directly to the connected monitor phone on your local network. Audio streams are NEVER recorded, stored on disk, or uploaded to any external cloud server. Audio capture is visibly indicated on the screen with an active audio meter and operates exclusively while the broadcaster screen remains open.
C. Local Network & Wi-Fi Information (ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_WIFI_STATE, INTERNET)
How it is used:
The App inspects your device's local network state to determine whether you are connected to a Wi-Fi network or hotspot and resolves the local IP address (e.g.,
http://192.168.x.x:8090).This local address is displayed on your screen or encoded into the pairing QR code so your second phone can find and connect to the camera.
Data Handling: All networking occurs strictly within the boundaries of your local area network (LAN/WLAN). We do not run any central relay servers, signaling servers, or cloud proxies.
D. QR Code / Barcode Data
How it is used: The QR code generated by the Broadcaster phone contains only the local private IP address and port of the sender. The Monitor phone uses Google ML Kit Barcode Scanning locally on-device to decode the IP address.
Data Handling: The QR code data is processed on-device and discarded immediately after connection.
3. Advertising and Third-Party SDK Disclosures
To support continued development, the App integrates Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) and the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP).
